Charles was the best neighbor we ever had. When we moved in across the street from him, my wife and I were greeted by Charles and Leora with champagne and chocolates welcoming us into the neighborhood. It is with a heavy heart that I write this but know that you are united with Leora. Charles, you are a class act, a man amongst men, and a gentleman. You will be missed. My wife and I are honored to have been your friend and neighbor. Much Love, -David and Amy Gutierrez

To The Family - I want to thank you for sending me Mr. Keaster's obituary. I lived next door to him and Leora on Eunice Dr as a kid. They let me practice my piano lessons on their piano. Mr. Keaster gave me a summer job at the county schools office. I will always remember the weeks we stayed at their cabin in Lake Tahoe. I know he is happier now that he is with Leora. I will always remember both of them fondly. Fondly, Bonnie

To the family - it's with sadness, gratitude, and joy that I write this note. Sadness - I worked for Charles for three years and felt very close to him. Of course, he had the ability to make everyone feel loved by him because he truly cared about everyone he met. Gratitude - It is not often that one is given the pleasure to be in the company of someone who walked the talk of Jesus' Two Great Commandments. Joy - Because I know how happy he is to be with his love, Leora. There isn't a day that has gone by without thinking of him. Over the years I often heard stories of how he touched so many lives. I know the stories to be true because I knew his heart. He never held a grudge and was always willing to extend a helping hand. Even though there were times we clashed we never ended the day in anger. As his illness digressed we spent some challenging times but there are by far many more happy and funny experiences too. I will always cherish those stories. My husband, Jim, also thought Charles a very special man. There is much we can all learn by his example. He is in God's kingdom - And all is well! Charles and Leora lived across the street from my widowed mother, Frances Huff, for decades. They were always so kind and generous toward her - going places together, having her over for dinner, playing card games, swimming in their heated pool - the best neighbors anyone could have, even after she moved into a retirement community. Charles would take her places, fix things, and even have her over for dinner. They were also very welcoming to me and my young children when we would come to visit from Seattle or S. California, and also in later years when I came to visit to care for my mother. The conversations were always interesting and lively. His presence will be missed. Regards, Joan and Jim Ashlock

I remember Dr. Keaster well . . . I worked for him at the Northern Diagnostic School in the late 70's. He, and a like minded team, gave me the promotion that set the stage for the rest of my career in education. I am truly grateful. I send my condolences to his family. Dawn Poston
