Obituary of Elva Malone

Please share a memory of Elva to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Born July 22, 1939 in Redding, California, Elva moved to Downtown Sacramento with her family where she attended Sacramento High School. Shortly afterwards she started a family of her own including 3 daughters and 2 sons. She would challenge her teenage children to a game of ping pong as a prerequisite for going out with their friends, or going out on dates. She was a loving and devoted mother, always supportive and wanting nothing but the best for her kids - even as they became her adult children. Over time she became a grandmother to 13 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 3 great-grandchildren; indeed she was a Great Woman. Elva was a fun, feisty lady who had a wonderful sense of humor, a strong will, and a lasting presence. She enjoyed decorating cakes, crocheting, quilting, playing cards, and walking on the marina in Reno while listening to Toby Keith on her headphones. Elva also loved going out to eat: Round Table Pizza and McDonald's were at the top of the list. Being the true grandma, grandma that she was she'd always order a Happy meal because it came with a toy, which she would give to her great-grandchildren. She will be missed by those who were fortunate to know and love her, and by those whom she loved. Private services were held.
