Calvin Arlo Silva October 25, 1932—June 12, 2018 Born in Fairfield, CA on October 25, 1932 to Frank and Mabel Silva, Cal passed away peacefully on June 12, 2018 in Euless, TX. He was 85. Cal is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Alice Louise Silva, and stepson Ronald. He is survived by his four sisters and four brothers, three children, Terry Silva, Keri “Bo” Silva and Kevin Silva, stepson John MacArthur and wife Carolyn, grandchildren Austin, Cory, Delilah, Scott, Todd; three great grandchildren and many extended family and friends. The eldest of 15 children, Cal attended Grant High School in Sacramento and was a member of the riffle team. After graduating, he joined the Navy, proudly serving his country for four years, including a tour of duty in Korea. After the military service, Cal returned to Sacramento and began a 40-year career working for the state of California. Cal was a devoted fan of the San Francisco ‘49ers and collected a great deal of ‘49er memorabilia over the years. He enjoyed movies and was an avid reader. Cal will be remembered for his kind heart and gentle spirit. A service will be held July 12th at Sacramento Memorial Lawn at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital.
