Obituary of Romana Obungen Rivera

Born February 26, 1915 in Agoo, La Union, Philippines. She passed away on May 17, 2014 in Sacramento, California. She lived a comfortable life in the Philippines as a daughter of a prominent civic leader and land owner. She loved to walk each day after school to the family fish pond to a meal of barbeque fish that her mother had prepared. After WWII she married Julian Rivera, also from Agoo, who had returned as a US soldier during WWII. She came to America and they lived in the Stockton and Pleasanton area where they had three children. Then moved to the Sacramento area in 1958. She is survived by her daughter, grandson, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 26, 2014 from 4:00pm-8:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:30pm at Sacramento Memorial Lawn. The Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Paul Parish, 8720 Florin Rd., Sacramento.
