Barbara Jane Smith was born July 1, 1926 in Sacramento, California to parents James and Georgia Smith. She passed away on April 2, 2014, at the age of 87 in Sacramento. Barbara was easy-going and a joy to be around. Two of her favorite things were her doctor, Dr. Todd Fisher, and ice cream. Barbara glowed when seeing Dr. Fisher, and would eat ice cream sometimes 3 times a day, and while she wouldn't say much, she could always say "ice cream". Barbara leaves behind her dear friend Lillie Williams (Momma Williams) of 34 years; her fellow residents at Lillie's Care Home - Lonetta, Darlene, Gwendwell, Joan, and Betty; the staff who helped care for her along with Momma Williams' - Darlene, Edna, Mary, and Tracy; and Christina Lane along with friends and staff at Alta Regional. She will be dearly missed. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00am at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, with a viewing to follow until 1:00pm.
