Myrtle Jackson came onto this planet on November 13, 1913 in Ladonia, Texas and was raised in Oklahoma City. Myrtle was valedictorian of her graduating class at Douglass High, where she won numerous awards for speech and composition. She met and married the love of her life, William Gipson. Their first child, Beverly was born in Oklahoma City. They moved to Santa Barbara, California, where their daughter Sandra Kay was born before they relocated to Sacramento. "Big Mama", as we called her, loved music, dance and literature, and she shared her love for the arts with family and friends. Myrtle Gipson was a very productive member of our community, having worked for The State of California as an analyst for The Department of Motor Vehicles for thirty two years. Myrt an Bo, as known by their friends, were married for fifty- seven years. They blessed this world with grand, great grand and great great grand children. They gave us Lynne, Gordon, Robert, Stefan, Erika, Reiko, Chanel, Tony, Brandon, Elton, Elijah, Jaliyah, Jordon and Christopher. Big mama will be missed, but will live with us forever.
