Obituary of Vong Mao
Please share a memory of Vong to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. Vong Mao, born July 9, 1927 in Cambodia, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 86 on April 13, 2014, in Sacramento, CA. Vong was a beautiful person who spent his time as a Buddhist missionary, travelling all over to various Cambodian Temples to help with building, services and whatever was needed. He was a handworker who always put others before himself. A great teacher, priest, and musician, he was skilled on the harp, violin and flute, just to name a few. Vong was also a great family man. Dependable, funny, outgoing, loving and kind are just some of the things we will remember about him. He was a wonderful father, and very loving grandfather, making sure to spoil his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. Vong is survived by his wife Sareth Chann, his son Kim Soeun Mao, daughter Kelly Chann Mao, daughter Saron Kong, son Kim Sam Mao, daughter Sammie Mao, sons Kay Mao and Vanna Mao; 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 11 siblings, and many more nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 6:00pm - 10:00pm, with Funeral Services on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 1:00pm, both at Sacramento Memorial Lawn.
