Obituary of James Stanley Boyd
James S. “Stan” Boyd was born August 21, 1931 in Ozark, Missouri, the son of Seamon A. and Retta D. (Richardson) Boyd. He left this world at the age of 92 years on March 7, 2024 in Carmichael, California while surrounded by family as a young child Stan moved with his family from Missouri to Washington state and not long thereafter to Sacramento. They settled in the Gardenland area where
he attended local schools. His union with SueDonna Sutherland Boyd resulted in the births of four daughters during the 1950’s. After a short sheet metal apprenticeship at SPRR, Stan began his almost forty-year career at Crystal Cream and Butter Company, from which he retired in 1992 as a supervisor in the milk processing department.
Stan was preceded in death by his father, Seamon, his mother, Retta, his infant brother, Seamon Jr., and his sisters, BeEtta and Connie. He is survived by his wife, Althea; his daughters, Aiyana (Michael) Pearson, Kimberly (Emery) Bell, Susan (Carlos) Flores, and Melody Boyd; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
