Obituary of Iona Mae FARNWORTH

FARNWORTH, Iona Mae (Purcell)

Passed away February 16, 2024 at the age of 97. She was born in
McCloud, California in 1926. Iona graduated from McCloud High
School where she was a member of CSF. She later moved to
Sacramento to work for Anglo California National Bank. She was
baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints in 1953 and there met her future husband, Donald. They
were married in 1954 in the Idaho Falls Temple and in 1955
moved into a new house in West Sacramento where she lived for
68 years, finally moving in August of 2023 to live in her
daughter’s home in Post Falls, Idaho. Iona was a devoted member
of the church and loved her Savior, Jesus Christ. She taught piano
lessons in West Sacramento for many years. Iona was preceded in
death by her husband (in 1981) and is survived by her sister,
Barbara Lamson; son, Ross Farnworth, and his wife, Nancy; son,
Dale Farnworth, and his wife, Lisa; daughter, Dawna Hunter, and
her husband Kim. Iona also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren
and twenty-five great-grandchildren with another on the way.

On the morning of Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 2667 Linden Road, West
Sacramento, CA., a viewing will take place at 10:00am, followed
by a funeral service at 11:00am.

Burial will take place on Monday,
March 4, 2024 at Sacramento Memorial Lawn at 6100 Stockton
Blvd., Sacramento, California.
