Obituary of Donald B. Hill
Donald B. Hill (“Don”) was born November 21, 1934, in Pontiac, MI to Nathan and Myrtle (Reed) Hill. He entered into eternal rest at his Sacramento home on May 15, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Norman (“Rocky”), James, (infant) Robert, and daughter Nanette (David).
Don is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 69 years, Elaine; his sister, Dorothea; sons Michael (Tammy) and James (Trista), daughter Jan; son-in-law, David; grandchildren, Casey, Merrie (Victor), Courtney, Emily, Jessica (Michael), Jeremiah, Leon (Jenn), Stephanie (Leon), Stacy (Todd), 10 great-grandkids (plus one on the way), 3 great-great-grandkids, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
While owning and operating his own appliance repair business Don worked hard with his hands, but it was well known that he wouldn’t eat with them. He always had to have silverware, no matter what the meal consisted of. He will be remembered for his love of life and silliness which led him to play just as hard as he worked whether it was his “talent” shows during the annual camping trips, riding his motorcycles with his “chicky-babe” on the back, country line dancing with whoever he could get on stage with him, taking cruises around the world, or blowing bubbles with the grandkids.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sacramento Memorial Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 01, 2023, at 11:00 am followed by a private reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s name would be greatly appreciated when made to the
American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/.
