Maria De La Luz (Lucy) Guajardo

Was born on Dec 4, 1937, and passed away on April 11, 2022, at the age of 84.  She was born and raised in Sacramento, CA.  She is preceded in death by her parents Lucio and Amelia, and daughter Annette.  She had 6 children, 15 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.  She is survived by children Evelyn (Fernando), Vangie (Juan), Arthur (Molly), Mary (Richard), Martha (William) and… many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lucy loved her cafecito con canela in the morning with pan dulce or some kind of sweets; however, oatmeal was a different story!  Her favorite dinner entrée was chicken enchiladas and she was well known for her homemade tortillas!  She and her comadre Louise enjoyed hosting “cocktail parties” with family and friends… which was NOT about the cocktails.  It was more about enjoying time with family and friends… and DANCING!  She loved to DANCE!  She was a collector of teacups and elephants which she displayed proudly around her home.  She didn’t have much, but was a very generous woman.  When someone pointed out something she had, that they liked… she would gladly give it to them.  During her final hours she was surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed and will be forever be in our hearts.
