Paul Nhung Hoang Nguyen

 

November 18, 1944 – February 28, 2022

 

 

On Monday February 28 2022, Nhung Hoang Nguyen has passed away at the age of 77 at Sacramento Methodist hospital after suffering Covid-19.

He was born on November 18, 1944 in Gia-Dinh, Sai Gon – Vietnam. He was the fourth son of a traditional Catholic family. He was a quiet person and lived in a simple life. He loved sports and literature. He enjoyed reading books, news, magazines, writing poems, and watching Kung Fu movies. He enjoyed discussing break news, politics. As a man of discipline, he was known as a hardworking and intelligent person with so many other great qualities.

1961- 1964: studied and graduated at the prestigious La-San Taberd, a Catholic High School in Sai Gon,

1964-1967: Studied at the National Institute of Administration of the Republic of Vietnam, and achieved a four-year degree from this institution.

He had served many years in administrative and managing positions for the South Vietnamese government as chief of economic office in Bac Lieu province and deputy chief of district 11^th, Sai Gon.

He got military training and prepared to serve as a reserve officer with the military of the Republic of Vietnam in the rank of Lieutenant.

April 30, 1975 to 1994, his journey was full of endurance challenges under Vietnamese Communist Government.

In 1995 the family left Vietnam as refugees and settled in Sacramento, California. He was a hardworking person and truly a hopeful migrant who continually sought a better life for his family. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
