Obituary of Ardella Williams-Luke

Ardella Williams-Luke of Boise, Idaho was born May 3, 1940 to Walker Stokes and Johnnie Mae Curry. She peacefully passed from this life the morning of March 19th 2021. She was preceded in death by her father Walker Stokes, Mother Johnnie Mae Curry, sister Jo Doris Stokes , husband M.B. Luke and granddaughter Ma’Kaiya J.Luke . She is survived by her sister Willa Dean, daughters Sophia, Johnnie and two sons Dominic (Sue) and Queron (Timiza). She is also a grandmother of seven, Jamila, Shamara, DQ, Devin, Danielle, Kyle and Kenneth. Great grandmother to Jerimyah, Andre, Alazeya and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Ardella was a pioneer, she was the first African American telephone operator in Boise when working for Pacific Bell in the 60s and after an illustrious career retired from Pacific Bell in 1990. She attended Sacramento City and Heald Business college, simultaneously to accomplish a goal she had set for herself. During this time Ms. Williams-Luke did an intern with the Federal government for one year which resulted in a full-time permanent position. She graduated in 1994 with a business degree. Ms. Williams-Luke retired again after 26 years of service to the federal government. She enjoyed crafting: knitting, sewing, quilting. She believed in the grace and mercy God and Jesus Christ and often left things in their hands AFTER doing her part. Ardella was always willing to listen, encourage and share her priceless qualities. Humbly saying, “I just do what I was put here to do”, A true portrait of strength, love and wisdom. She will certainly be missed and always celebrated for the wonderful woman she was.
